The Baltimore Ravens added promising depth to their offensive line on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting Alabama A&M offensive tackle Carson Vinson with the 141st overall pick in the fifth round.

Vinson, a five-year starter and standout at Alabama A&M, brings a combination of size, athleticism, and raw potential to the Ravens’ roster.

Vinson, a 6-foot-7, 314-pound lineman from Morrisville, North Carolina, was the only HBCU player invited to the prestigious Reese’s Senior Bowl this year, where he impressed scouts with his physical traits and technique. Known for his long arms and fluid movement, Vinson demonstrated the ability to hold his ground against top-tier pass rushers, showcasing patience and solid footwork in pass protection.

Throughout his college career, Vinson started all 48 games at left tackle following a redshirt year, earning First Team All-SWAC honors in 2024. His tape reveals a player with the ideal frame and athleticism for the NFL, capable of moving laterally to counter edge rushers. However, scouts note that he remains a developmental prospect who needs refinement in hand-foot coordination and consistency in run blocking. His technique can occasionally falter as he sometimes relies more on size and length than crisp fundamentals.

The Ravens, who have prioritized bolstering their offensive line depth, see Vinson as a high-upside player who can develop into a reliable contributor. His blend of size, length, and athleticism fits the mold of a modern NFL tackle, and Baltimore’s coaching staff will look to harness his potential in the coming seasons.

Carson Vinson’s selection marks a significant milestone not only for him but also for Alabama A&M and HBCU football, highlighting the growing recognition of talent from smaller programs. As Vinson embarks on his professional career, the Ravens will be counting on his steady development to help protect their quarterback and strengthen their offensive front.
