The Miles Golden Bears magical season has come to an end following a 33-17 loss to Valdosta State in the Regional Semifinals of the Division II playoffs.

Miles end the season with a 10-3 overall record.

Meanwhile, Valdosta State will advance to the Regional Final, awaiting a matchup with CIAA champion Virginia Union.

Despite Miles’ best efforts, this game got out of hand early, and they simply could not keep up with the production of their opponent.

Valdosta State scored touchdowns on each of its first two offense drives. This marks the first time Miles has surrendered two touchdowns in the first half all season.

Valdosta State’s 408 yards of total offense is the second-most Miles has allowed all year, while their 230 rushing yards is the most Miles has given up.

The defense did all it could to limit Valdosta State, forcing them to punt on four of their next five offensive drives, but it was not enough to mount a serious comeback late.

In addition, this is the first game in which the Miles defense was unable to force a turnover.

By the time Miles began to get something going on offense, scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, it was too little too late.
