As a redshirt freshman, Evans appeared in 18 games, with four starts, averaging 4.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 19.2 minutes per contest. He took a step forward in his sophomore campaign, starting in 24 of the 29 games he participated in and upping his production to 7.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

Evans continued to improve his game in his third season, becoming the team’s third-leading scorer, putting up 11.3 points per contest. The Jackson native put together a season in 2023-24 in which he not only led the team in scoring but also paced the entire Southwestern Athletic Conference with 18.8 points per game.

Evans’s play also garnered him SWAC Player of the Week twice this year. He topped the 1,000-point mark in JSU’s 73-64 win over Texas Southern on January 22. He poured in a career-high 37 points in an 89-84 win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on March 7.

Evans joins a Florida Atlantic program coming off a season in which the Owls recorded a 25-9 overall record and 14-4 in the American Athletic Conference and also appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
