Reid led the Tigers back from 10-0, 13-3, and 22-17 deficits. His two-yard scoring run in the second quarter gave TSU their first lead of the season at 17-16. In the decisive third quarter, Reid led the Tigers on four consecutive scoring drives (1 FG, 3 TDs) to open the second half.

Reid’s six-yard TD pass to Roland Robins gave them the lead for good at 33-29. Reid’s four-yard TD run near the end of the third quarter capped the scoring. It was TSU’s first win since Oct. 28, 2006 when they defeated Grambling State 33-28.

DEFENSIVE – CB Kenneth Anio, Grambling State; 6-0, 180; SR, Jackson, LA
Anio made a team-high 11 tackles and recovered a fumble, which he returned 33 yards for the Tigers first touchdown in their 31-19 loss at Northwestern State Sunday afternoon. Of Anio’s tackles, nine of them were solo stops.

SPECIALIST –  CB Desmond Lenard, Grambling State; CB, 5-11, 170; JR, Monroe, La.
Lenard averaged nearly 25 yards on four kickoff returns at Northwestern State.  Lenard had returns of 21, 8, 18, and 51 yards, the final return in the fourth quarter which led to a GSU touchdown which cut the deficit to 24-19 with 2:33 to play.

NEWCOMER – CB DeMarkus Washington, Texas Southern; 5-9, 160; FR, Dallas, TX
Washington made two interceptions, while tallying a combined 50 return yards. His first interception in the third quarter was returned 27 yards that led to the go-ahead touchdown for the Tigers as they took the lead for good, 33-29.
