Southern (7-8, 6-2) 71, Alabama State (6-10, 3-4) 51
BATON ROUGE – Southern stayed even at the top of the SWAC standings with a win over Alabama State. Kendra Coleman had 19 points to lead the Jaguars, while Jamie Floyd talled 12 points and 10 rebounds. Danielle Gazaway dropped in 16 points to pace Alabama State. Quentori Alford added 12 points and six rebounds for the Lady Hornets.

Alcorn State (8-10, 6-2) 49, Alabama A&M (8-9, 3-4) 45
ALCORN STATE – Despite having leading scorer, Whiquitta Tobar back in the lineup, Alabama A&M continued to struggle on offense, managing only 45 points in a loss to Alorn State. A&M led at halftime, 20-16. However, Alcorn outscored the Lady Bulldogs 33-25 in the second half. Renelle Richmond led Alcorn with 14 points, while Carolinsia Crumbly chipped in 10. Tobar topped A&M in scoring with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Prairie View (7-11, 4-3) 102, Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-18, 0-7) 51
PRAIRIE VIEW – Prairie View had three players score over 20 points as the Panthers crushed Arkansas-Pine Bluff. JaQuandria Williams led the onslaught with 33 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jeannette Jackson wasn’t far behind with 29 points, while Latia Williams scored a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Jenise Gentry led UAPB with 12 points, while Chizogi Okwumabua contributed 11.

Mississippi Valley State (8-10, 5-2) 68, Texas Southern (3-14, 2-5) 54
HOUSTON – Alia Frank poured in a game-high 23 points as Mississippi Valley State beat Texas Southern at the H&PE Arena. The junior standout hit nine of 13 shots and five of seven free throws to keep Valley in third place in the SWAC standings behind Southern and Alcorn State who are tied for the top spot. The Devilettes also got a double-double performance Ka’Neisha Smith with 11 points and 13 rebounds. In addition, Lenise Stallings contributed 17 points. MVSU hit 35.1 percent of its shots and hit 25-of-32 free throws. Chasity Richardson and Ginnesica Lawler had nine points each to lead TSU. TSU went cold in the second half, hitting just 7-of-27 shots. The Devilettes outscored the Tigers 42-28 in the final 20 minutes.
