Tucker and Laufenberg Earn SWAC Weekly Baseball Awards
Birmingham, Ala. – Alabama A&M’s Sanchez Tucker and Texas Southern’s Dakota Laufenberg have earned SWAC Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games played between April 5 – April 11.
Player of the Week – Sanchez Tucker, Alabama A&M – OF, 5-11, 175, Jr., Camden, S.C. Tucker batted .533 (8 for 15) in four games during a week where the Bulldogs finished with two wins. He scored 6 runs and his base hits included a double and 3 triples. He was also 2-4 in stolen bases.
Pitcher of the Week – Dakota Laufenberg, Texas Southern – RP, 6-0, 170, Pleasanton, Calif. Laufenberg earned 3 saves in four relief appearances as the Tigers won three of their five games on the week. He posted a 1.93 ERA giving up just one earned run in 4.2 innings of work. He struck out 6 batters and held opposing hitters to a .143 batting average
