HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – In an ongoing effort to continue to elevate the coverage for the program and its student-athletes, Alabama A&M Director of Athletics Bryan Hicks officially announced Joshua J. Darling as Sports Information Director on Wednesday.

“We are excited to bring Josh on to our team,” said Hicks. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the University and we look forward to the outstanding work that he will do in helping to drive A&M forward.”

Darling brings 25 years of experience working with athletics from the high school and junior college ranks and all three Divisions of the NCAA, including the past decade as the head SID at Division II Clayton State (2014-20) and Limestone (2010-14). He has also served as Assistant Director of Media Relations at Division I College of Charleston (2008-10) and spent a year as the full-time Sports Information Intern at Chattanooga (2007-08).

Over the course of his career, he has covered 50 championships, 44 NCAA Tournament appearances, eight College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americas, 21 CoSIDA Academic All-District honorees, 60 All-Americans, 145 All-Region/District selections, 288 All-Conference choices and 196 weekly honorees.

Included among those championships was the 2014 NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse National Championship with Limestone along with multiple NCAA Region Championships that led to four men’s or women’s lacrosse title game appearances in as many seasons while with the Saints.

Additionally, Darling has been responsible for the upkeep and operation of websites powered by industry leader SIDEARM at both Clayton State and Limestone, including a total of four redesigns with two coming at each institution. He has also managed gameday staffing and built relationships with campus archives to showcase the program’s history and reconnect with Athletic alumni.

Darling has also played a significant role in the success of major Department initiatives, including Hall of Fame, the Annual Athletics Banquet, Senior Day festivities and golf tournament fundraisers as well as developed saleable opportunities through website design.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to come in and make a difference at Alabama A&M,” said Darling. “First and foremost, I would like to thank Bryan Hicks and the selection committee for trusting me to continue the high standards within the Sports Information Office. I am excited to work with our media, coaches, staff and student-athletes to elevate the Department’s coverage in every way possible.”

A two-time graduate of Ithaca College, Darling earned a Bachelor’s in Television & Radio in 2001 before becoming one of the first two individuals to earn a Master’s in Sport Management and Media from IC in 2007. He also holds an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Journalism from Fulton-Montgomery Community College, earned in 1999.
