Peyton Ramzy scored two touchdowns and Tuskegee’s defense held Morehouse scoreless in the second half, ending a three-game losing streak with a 21-10 win in the 84th Annual Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic Saturday afternoon. The victory from A.J. McClung Stadium in Columbus (Ga.) now gives the Golden Tigers a record of 73-28-7 all-time and winners of its last 21-of-25 classics over the Maroon Tigers.

TU drove seven plays for 67 yards on its opening drive to open up a 7-0 lead when Ahmad Deramus connected with Ramzy on a seven-yard touchdown pass. It would make Ramzy’s third TD catch of the season.

MHC tied the game at the 13:15 mark of the second quarter after a 10-yard touchdown run from Frank Bailey. Skegee would not take long to respond after Jamarcus Ezell capped off an 11-play 74 yard drive on a one-yard quarterback sneak, which gave the Golden Tigers a 14-7 lead with 7:42 to play in the second quarter.

The Maroon Tigers would threaten and reached the red zone just before halftime, but the TU defense would hold its opponent to a 29-yard field goal by Fernando Delta, leaving the Golden Tigers with a 14-10 lead at the break.
On the opening drive of the second half, MHC successfully drove the ball inside TU’s territory, but the drive stalled after Brandon Roberts earned his first interception of the season.

The Golden Tigers opened the game’s biggest lead just under 10 minutes to play in the fourth quarter when the Deramus and Ramzy connection reunited with a seven-yard touchdown strike that gave TU a 21-10 lead. Ramzy who caught five passes for 54 yards was named Most Valuable Player of the classic.
Roberts would close things out, earning his second INT of the game when he picked off Michael Sims for the second time with 10 seconds lefts in the game.

Deramus completed 12-of-17 passing attempts for 137 yards and a pair of TDs. Steven Hodges hauled in three passes for 74 yards while Jamarcus Ezell threw for 55-yards and one rushing touchdown.

Defensively, TU was led by Ricky Norris and his nine tackles. The senior also added a half sack. Franklin Montgomery had his coming out party finishing with eight tackles including one tackle for a loss. Carl Matthews and Brandon Robert each chipped in six stops apiece. Quindarius Coles produced five tackles and two sacks on the day.

TU returns home to host Central State next Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be carried via FloSports.
