OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
#66 John Robinson, Bowie State
(Sr, OL – Uniondale, NY)

Robinson played a key role in Bowie State gaining 526 yards of offense, including 208 yards on the ground and 318 yards through the air, in their 54-6 win over Saint Augustine’s.

QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK
#16 Ja’Rome Johnson, Bowie State
(Jr, QB – Washington, DC)

In his first start of the season, Johnson completed 19 of 29 passes (65 percent) for a season-high 307 yards and four touchdowns. The junior signal-caller also ran for 34 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 54-6 win over Saint Augustine’s.

RECEIVER OF THE WEEK
#17 Dushon David, Bowie State
(Sr, WR – Washington, DC)

David had a game-high seven receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns in Bowie State’s 54-6 win over Saint Augustine’s.

OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK
#28 Stevie Green, Fayetteville State
(Sr, RB – Washington, NC)

Green had a big game with 154 yards on 21 carries and three touchdowns. The senior tailback averaged 7.3 yards per carry and his longest run of the day came on a 41-yard touchdown in the Broncos 55-12 win over Elizabeth City State in the Down East Viking Football Classic.

DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK
#29 Kenneth Merritt, Fayetteville State
(So, DB – Charlotte, NC)

Merritt had a season-high six tackles, including four solos, and an interception. The Charlotte, NC native also had a pass breakup and a QB hurry in the Broncos 55-12 win over Elizabeth City State.

LINEBACKER OF THE WEEK
#7 Chrishon Springs, Fayetteville State
(Jr, LB – Winston-Salem, NC)

Springs finished with a game-high 10 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss, in FSU’s 55-12 win over Elizabeth City State. The junior defender also totaled 1.5 sacks and forced two fumbles.

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
#8 Keyshawn James, Fayetteville State
(Jr, DL – Cayce, SC)

James totaled seven tackles, including two tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in the Broncos 55-12 win over Elizabeth City State. The junior defensive lineman also blocked an extra point to earn his second weekly honor of the season.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#88 Jefferson Souza, Virginia Union
(Jr, K – Deerfield Beach, FL)

Souza hit three field goals from 25 yards, including the game-winner with 21 seconds remaining to give the Panthers a 16-15 win over Winston-Salem State. The junior kicker also hit an extra point, scoring 10 of his team’s 16 points, and had three punts for 105 yards (35 yards per punt) to earn his second weekly honor this season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
#25 Sidney Gibbs, Shaw
(Fr, RB – Black Mountain, NC)

Gibbs ran for a career-high 127 yards, with a long of 31 yards, on 16 carries. The freshman from Black Mountain, NC averaged 7.9 yards per carry and caught a pass for five yards in Shaw’s 49-10 win over Edward Waters.
