NORFOLK, Va., – North Carolina A&T State running back Jah-Maine Martin and Bethune-Cookman quarterback Akevious Williams have been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Offensive Players of the Week, the conference announced today. North Carolina Central’s Bryan Mills is the Defensive Player of the Week and Howard freshman Quinton Williams has been selected as Rookie of the Week. Earning Offensive Lineman of the Week honors is North Carolina A&T State’s Marcus Pettiford and picking up Specialist of the Week honors is Florida A&M’s Yahia Aly.

Martin (RB, 5-10, 203, Jr., Conway, S.C) carried the ball 14 times and rushed for 108 yards and four touchdowns against Delaware State on Thursday, which are tied for the second most in a game by an Aggie. He had three runs of 20 yards or more in the Aggies’ 37-0 victory.

Williams (QB, 6-2, 188, r-Sr., Madison County, Fla.) finished the game with a career-high three rushing touchdowns in his fourth career multi-rushing touchdown game. He also completed 16 of his 23 passes and run for 101 yards on 16 carries as the Wildcats defeated Howard on the road.

Mills (CB, 6-2, 170, Jr., Palmdale, Calif.) tied a school record with three interceptions, including two in the end zone that prevented Morgan State touchdowns, while contributing two solo tackles. The three interceptions are the most in a single game for the Eagles since Adrian Jones picked off three passes in 1996.

Williams (QB, 6-4, 178, Fr., Upper Marlboro, Md.) was 21-for-35 for 179 yards passing to go along with three touchdowns, while also rushing for 25 yards and a touchdown in the Bison’s home opener.

Pettiford (OL, 6-4, 286, Sr., Durham, N.C.) graded out at 89 percent and spearheaded an Aggies squad that amassed 432 yards of total offense on Thursday. He didn’t yield any sacks and recorded six pancake blocks with no penalties in the win over Delaware State.

Aly (K, 6-0, 200, Jr., Whittier, Calif.) had a huge game for Florida A&M, going 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts and 3-for-3 on field goals. He made field goals of 30, 37 and 52 yards. His 52-yard field goal is the second-longest in program history.
