NORFOLK, Va., — Florida A&M quarterback Ryan Stanley has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Bethune-Cookman’s Marquis Hendrix is the Defensive of the Week and North Carolina Central freshman Davius Richard and Norfolk State’s Kevin Johnson have been selected as Co-Rookies of the Week. Earning Offensive Lineman of the Week honors is North Carolina Central’s Jesse Urbina and picking up Specialist of the Week honors is Florida A&M’s Chris Faddoul.

Stanley (QB, 6-3, 210, r-Sr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) finished the game against Southern University with 355 yards passing, completing 24 of 39 passes with two touchdowns. His 355 yards passing were a new career-high for Stanley and he became the Rattlers’ career record-holder for completions during their 27-21 win over the Jaguars. Stanley is now fourth on the Rattlers’ career passing list.

Hendrix (LB, 6-1, 230, Sr., Ocala, Fla.) helped lead a Wildcats defense that held Mississippi Valley State to just six points in Bethune-Cookman’s 22-6 win on Saturday. Hendrix finished the game with 12 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss of three yards, a half-sack and he assisted on a safety.

Richard (QB, 6-3, 200, Fr., Belle Glade, Fla.) completed 17 of 24 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions while adding four yards rushing in Saturday’s 45-7 win over Elizabeth City State, the Eagles’ first win in the Trei Oliver era.

Johnson (RB, 6-0, 170, Fr., Suffolk, Va.) carried the ball eight times for a career-high 112 yards and caught three passes for 26 yards against No. 8 Montana State. Johnson scored two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving), including an 84-yard touchdown catch, which was the longest in school history.

Urbina (OL, 6-2, 320, r-Fr., Jacksonville, Fla.) graded out at 93 percent and spearheaded an Eagles squad that amassed 391 yards of total offense on Saturday. He didn’t yield any sacks and recorded three pancake blocks with no penalties in the win over Elizabeth City State. Behind Urbina, Richard was able to throw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns.

Faddoul (P, 5-11, 210, Jr., Wesley Chapel, Fla.) was instrumental in the Rattlers’ 27-21 victory over Southern, as he punted the ball four times for 174 yards, averaging 43.5 yards per punt. He landed two punts inside the 20-yard line and converted on a two-point conversion for FAMU.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Isaac Washington (B-CU) carried the ball 14 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

Brian Cavicante (DSU) finished the game against Howard with 12 tackles, a sack and a blocked extra point for the Hornets.

Markquess Bell (FAMU) finished the night with three tackles, one tackle for a loss of a yard and a pair of first-half interceptions against Southern.

Manasseh Bailey (MSU) had six receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns against Army.

Rico Kennedy (MSU) had a game-high 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks, including a sack fumble that setup a touchdown that gave the Bears a 14-7 lead in the first quarter of their game at Army

Adrian Olivo (NCCU) accounted for nine points for the Eagles, kicking a field goal and 6 PATs in the win over Elizabeth City State.

Darius Royster (NCCU) had team-high eight tackles (six solo), including 3.0 tackles for a loss of 16 yards and a pair of sacks with a forced fumble against Elizabeth City State.

Juwan Carter (NSU) threw for a season-high 243 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions against No. 8 Montana State.
