BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alcorn State’s Felix Harper, Soloman Muhammad and Corey McCullough, along with Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Harry Ballard III were all named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Football Players of the Week in week four of the season for their outstanding play the league announced on Monday.

Offensive
Alcorn State
Felix Harper (5-11, 180, QB, R-Jr., Fairburn, Ga.)

Felix Harper accounted for three touchdowns in Alcorn’s 45-41 victory over Prairie View A&M. Harper, the backup who got the start in-place of an injured Noah Johnson, threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown. Alcorn trailed 41-38 with 5:20 remaining at its own 35-yard line when Harper quarterbacked the Braves all the way down the field and threw the game-winner to Tim McNair with 40 seconds left. Harper also helped the Braves finish six-for-six in red zone scoring.

Defensive
Alcorn State
Solomon Muhammad (6-1, 235, LB, Sr., Birmingham, Ala.)

Muhammad turned in a heroic defensive effort for the Braves with a whopping 18 tackles. The career-high went along with 2.5 tackles for a loss and a sack. It topped his previous career-high of 13 tackles set in 2017. Muhammad helped the Braves win their eighth straight conference opener and increase their home winning streak to five games with the 45-41 victory over Prairie View A&M.

Specialist
Alcorn State
Corey McCullough (5-11, 175, P/K, Sr., Louisville, Miss.)

McCullough scored nine points for the Braves in their 45-41 victory over Prairie View A&M. He connected on a 33-yard field goal in the first quarter and made all six of his extra point attempts. Additionally, McCullough punted five times for 182 yards, and three of his eight kickoffs went into the end zone for a touchback. McCullough’s first quarter field goal was the 37th of his career, which is the most made in Alcorn State history.

Newcomer
Arkansas-Pine Bluff
Harry Ballard III (6-3, 205, WR, R-Jr., St. Louis, Mo.)

Caught a season-high seven passes for 112 yards to go along with one rushing touchdown. He rushed one time for a three-yard score at Tennessee St. He also caught three passes for 58 yards on the Golden Lions game-winning drive. His efforts helped the Golden Lions improve to 3-1 on the season marking UAPB’s best start since 2012.
