As we noted previously, the 2018 edition of the Bayou Classic will once again be for more than just bragging rights.
For the fourth time in the last five years, the game’s winner will represent the SWAC West in the conference’s championship football game Saturday, Dec. 1., against SWAC East champion Alcorn State in Lorman, Miss.
Southern (6-3, 5-1 SWAC) will face Grambling (6-4, 4-2 SWAC) at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans Saturday at 4 p.m. The game will be televised on NBCSN.
