Texas Southern University’s Athletics Department received great news from the National Association of Collegiate Athletics (NCAA), in that, the NCAA Division I Committee on Athletics Certification has fully certified TSU Athletics with no conditions.
This classification means that TSU Athletics program is operating in substantial conformity with the operating principles adopted by the Association’s Division I membership; and that any problems identified during the course of the self‐study and the peer review team’s evaluation have been corrected or were not considered to be
serious enough to affect TSU’s certification status.
“This is extremely significant to our overall development of the athletic program. The fully certified designation with no conditions report signals the great effort of every individual to move the program to be the best in the region,” said Charles McClelland,
TSU’s Athletic Director.
