“Arizona, Baby,” were the words Grambling State WR Chad Williams yelled to family and friends after getting the call from the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals informing him that he would be the team’s 98th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
“Everybody’s expecting a phone call,” Williams said. “When I got the call I was just overwhelmed. I’m just happy.”
Williams is the first Grambling player to be picked in the draft since Jason Hatcher in 2006, and the first wide receiver taken since Scotty Anderson in 2001.
