Portia Wilson, Miss. Valley State (F, 5’10, Sr., Dallas, Texas)
In two games, Wilson averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game. She assisted her team in keeping their undefeated status alive by beating Philander Smith 81-41 and Tougaloo College 86-60. She leads
the conference in scoring, averaging 22.5 points per game

Southwestern Athletic Conference Newcomer the Week

Camille Parks, Texas Southern (G, 5’4, Jr., Morrilton, Ark.)
In four games, Parks averaged nine points, four rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. The Lady Tigers were defeated by McNeese State 60-50, but bounced back with two straight wins against Oral Roberts (52-48) and Wiley
College (60-56). They dropped another to Lamar University 57-47

Other Notable Performances Player

Assunta Fulgham, Alabama State

The sophomore forward average 11.5 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and steals per game. She scored 10 points in the Lady Hornets 68-55 loss against Louisiana-Monroe.

Ciara Shields, Arkansas-Pine Bluff
The junior forward form Brooklyn, N.Y. averaged 7.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 assist per game. UAPB lost to Miss. State 85-56, Texas-El Paso 73-56 and Lipscomb Univ. 48-43.

Carena Easley, Jackson State
The senior forward averaged 14 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 5.7 steals in three games. The Lady Tigers defeated Georgia State 68-60, then lost two in a row to Marshall Univ. (87-61) and Harvard Univ. (69-66)

Tanika Jackson, Alabama State
The freshman forward came off the bench to average 8.5 points, fi ve rebounds and one assist

Ashley Augerson, Southern University
The sophomore guard from Monroe, La. averaged nine points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in two games. The Jags lost to Univ. of Nevada-Reno 77-52 and UCLA 79-52
