NCCU’s Jeremiah Ingram Named MEAC Basketball Player of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. — Jeremiah Ingram of North Carolina Central was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Justin Ravenal, of Florida A&M, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Norfolk State’s Jordan Butler was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Ingram (G, 6-7, 210, Sr., Detroit, Mich.) shot 72-percent (8-of-11) from the floor and 83-percent (5-of-6) from the free-throw line in a 90-66 victory over Bethune-Cookman. He finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal, in 32 minutes of action. Ravenal (G, 6-1, 175, Fr. Lithonia, Ga.) shot 55-percent (11-of-20) from behind the arc for 11 3-pointers against Delaware State and North Carolina A&T State. He scored 20 points, with five rebounds, one assist and three steals, in a double-overtime win against Delaware State.

Butler (F, 6-6, 245, So., Hartford, Conn.) totaled 17 rebounds, 10 blocks and one steal, in wins over Maryland Eastern Shore and Morgan State. He tied a career-high seven blocks and nine rebounds against Morgan State. Offensively, he scored 16 points, on 7-of-9 shooting, against Maryland Eastern Shore.

Other Top Performers

Cedric Blossom (MSU) posted a double-double with a career-high 28 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, against Norfolk State.

Malcolm Bernard (FAMU) registered a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, in a double-overtime win against Delaware State.

Dontae Caldwell (UMES) came off the bench to score 18 points, including four 3-pointers, against Norfolk State.

Dominique Elliot (UMES) averaged a double-double of 14.0 points and 12.5 rebounds, with 2.0 assists, against Norfolk State and Delaware State.

Alex Long (NSU) tied a career-high four blocks in a 79-73 victory over Morgan State.

Devin Morgan (DSU) totaled 34 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals, against Florida A&M and Maryland Eastern Shore.

Kavon Waller (DSU) matched his career-high four 3-pointers, for 18 points, against Florida A&M.
