SIAC Football Players Of The Week – Nov. 2

ATLANTA – Marcus Reynolds (Lane) was named Offensive Player of the Week and Jewell Ratliff (Tuskegee) was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) on Monday.

Reginal Harris (Kentucky State) was selected as Newcomer of the Week and Kemuel Lawrence (Tuskegee) was picked as the Special Teams Player of the Week to complete the football weekly honors.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marcus Reynolds
Lane College
QB • 6-1 • 200 • SO • Calhoun, Ga.

Reynolds led the Dragons to two scores in the fourth quarter to complete the come from behind 21-14 victory over the Thoroughbreds of Kentucky State University. Reynolds connected on a 27-yard touchdown with 6:01 on the clock and completed the two-point conversion on a quarterback keeper to tie the game at 14. With one minute left in regulation Reynolds connected on a 72-yard game-winning touchdown pass. On Saturday, Reynolds collected 52 yards rushing on 12 carries and 123 yards passing and two touchdowns for 175 total yards of offense.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jewell Ratliff
Tuskegee
LB • 6-1 • 238 • Sr. • New Orleans, La.

After having a streak of six consecutive games in double-digit tackles ended last week, the senior linebacker responded with 19 tackles in a 19-7 victory over Central State. Ratliff also recorded a pair of tackles for loss, and returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown that gave Tuskegee the lead in the third quarter. Ratliff has now amassed 106 tackles this season, with 12.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Reginal Harris
Kentucky State
RB • 5-9 • 180 • Jr. • Miami, Fla.

Harris ran for a season-high 142 yards and scored both of Kentucky State’s touchdowns in Saturday’s 21-14 loss at Lane. Harris averaged 8.4 yards on his 17 carries and scored on a 19-yard run in the first quarter and a 68-yard run in the second quarter.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kemuel Lawrence
Tuskegee
P/K • 6-4 • 200 • Sr. • Hamden, Conn.

Lawrence finished with three punts, averaging 35.7 yards per punt in the 19-7 victory over Central State. The senior booted a pair of punts inside the 20, including nailing a 50-yard punt. He also kicked four kickoffs for a total of 225 yards (averaging 56.2 yards per kick) with one touchback.
