Alcorn State received the No. 1 spot in another preseason football poll on Monday by the SBN Sports Network.
The defending SWAC and National Black College champions garnered 18 first place votes, followed by North Carolina A&T with seven first place votes and Grambling at the No. 3 spot.
South Carolina State, at the No. 4 position, received three first place votes, followed by Bethune-Cookman, Southern, Tuskegee, Virginia State, North Carolina Central and Winston-Salem State.
