ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its football players of the week with Michael Wilson (Central State), LeRon Furr (Fort Valley State), Matt Daniels (Clark Atlanta), John Adams (Central State) and Matthew Reese (Tuskegee) receiving the honors for October 27.

Wilson notched his first offensive award on the year landing while Furr garners top defender for a consecutive week. Daniels was named newcomer of the week with Adams selected specialist. Reese was named offensive lineman of the week holding the honor in back-to-back weeks and fourth on the season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Wilson
Central State
QB • 260 • 5-11 • Sr, • Landover, MD
Wilson led the Marauders to a 41-14 win over Stillman with 173 yards and a touchdown through the air along with a rushing touchdown and 87 yards on the ground.Wilson leads the team with 6 rushing touchdowns on the season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LeRon Furr
Fort Valley State?LB • Sr. • 6-3 • 240 • Columbus, Ga.
Furr led the Wildcats defense with 14 tackles (9 solo), 3.5 tackles-for-losses for 14-yards and one quarterback hurry in FVSU 23-10 win over Paine on Saturday.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Matthew Daniels
Clark Atlanta
5-9 • WR • 185 • Fr. • McDonough, Ga.
Daniels carried the Panthers offensively with 93 all-purpose yards including 79 rushing and 14 receiving. He scored both of CAU touchdowns rushing for an 18-yard score and another for a season-high 52 yards while averaging 11.3 yards on seven carries.

SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
John Adams
Central State
K • 175 • 6-2 • Jr. • Berkeley, Calif.
Adams converted on kicks from 22 yards and 41 yards in Saturday’s 41-14 win over Stillman. Adams also had two touchbacks and had an average of 44 yards on his four punts on Saturday.

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
Matthew Reese
Tuskegee
OL • 315 • 6-3 • Sr. • Birmingham, Ala.
Reese served as the center and a key person on the offensive line. Under his leadership the Tuskegee offense tallied 22 first downs and 174 net rushing yards, 291 net passing yards for a total of 465 total offensive yards. They also protected three quarterbacks who combined for 16-18-0 and didn’t allow a sack for the second week in a row.  The Golden Tigers won 38-9 over Kentucky State.
