An approaching fall storm is shifting an HBCU football homecoming game to a morning start.
The Florida A&M-Alabama State game in Montgomery has been moved to Friday morning as university officials monitor weather conditions and potential impacts of Hurricane Isaias on the weekend’s activities.
The game will now kick off at 11:05 a.m. Friday, with all other homecoming activities scheduled between Friday and Sunday also being rescheduled, Alabama State said in a statement.
The matchup will move from HBCU GO TV to SWAC TV.
In a statement, Alabama State officials said the decision was made with the safety of the campus community in mind.
“The safety and well-being of Hornet Nation remain our highest priority. University officials are closely monitoring weather conditions and will continue to assess any potential impacts. Additional updates will be shared as information becomes available.”
The university said additional details about the rescheduled homecoming activities will be announced.
Officials will continue monitoring weather conditions and assessing their potential impact on campus and the remaining Homecoming schedule.
