BIRMINGHAM – The Southwestern Athletic Conference men’s regular season and tournament champion Alabama State will take on Ohio Valley champion Morehead State in the NCAA Opening Round Tournament game Tuesday, March 17 in Dayton, OH.
The Hornets (22-10) went 16-2 during the regular season in winning their second straight SWAC title. This past weekend, Alabama State defeated Alabama A&M, Univ.-Arkansas Pine Bluff and Jackson State to win the tournament title for the first time since 2004. This will be Alabama State’s third NCAA Tournament Appearance (2001 vs. Michigan State; 2004 vs. Duke).
