Prairie View A&M is looking for any kind of spark to overcome a 2-5 start.
That includes changes to the coaching staff. Tremaine Jackson reassigned offensive coordinator Christopher Buckner and defensive backs coach Darren Garrigan, according to Defender Network reporter Terrance Harris.
“We made some staff changes. Coach Buckner and Coach Garrigan have been reassigned, and we promoted Coach Clifford Fedd to offensive coordinator now,” Jackson said on Monday. “And so need to shake some things up to get some things moving in a different direction. And so we do that and we move forward.”
PV is 2-5 and sits in fourth place in the SWAC West, one year after winning the conference championship and advancing to the program’s first-ever Celebration Bowl appearance.
The Panthers are averaging 22 points per game in 2026, nine points per game less than a season ago.
Prairie View has lost two games in a row, a 28-27 defeat at Mississippi Valley State and becoming the first Division I team to lose to Marshall Faulk as a head coach in Southern’s 28-14 win this past weekend.
