Nightcap is taking the show on the road — and HBCU campuses are getting the first look.
The popular sports talk show announced that it is launching an HBCU Tour, with Prairie View A&M University set to host the first stop on Sept. 4.
“OH YEAH! Nightcap is hitting the road and going on an HBCU Tour!” the show announced on social media. “We’re pulling up to Prairie View A&M first LIVE from the Baby Dome on September 4th. It’s about to go down!”
The live show will take place at Prairie View A&M’s William “Billy” J. Nicks Building, better known as the Baby Dome.
And if Nightcap’s first stop is any indication, HBCU fans could be in for something special.

The show features Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and former NBA All-Star Joe Johnson, who has become a regular part of the program’s lineup.
For Prairie View, the timing could hardly be better. The university is celebrating its 150th anniversary throughout 2026, giving the Nightcap appearance another major event to add to a historic year on The Hill.
But this tour also has a deeper connection to HBCU culture through Sharpe.
Before becoming an NFL star and one of the most recognizable voices in sports media, Sharpe played his college football at Savannah State. He went on to become an eight-time Pro Bowler, three-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Now, years after leaving the field, Sharpe is bringing one of the biggest platforms in sports media directly back to HBCU campuses.
That could mean a major spotlight for Prairie View — and potentially every HBCU that lands a spot on the tour.
Nightcap has built a massive digital following, making the decision to take the show beyond the studio a potentially significant opportunity for exposure, recruiting and HBCU culture.
For now, Prairie View is the first stop.
The rest of the tour remains under wraps.
But if Nightcap is really about to pull up to HBCUs across the country, fans are already going to have one question:
