Practice sessions closed Thursday at the fifth annual Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl, capping a week-long showcase for top NFL draft-eligible players ahead of Saturday’s game.

Here are the players who stood out.

While final evaluations continued on the practice fields, defensive standouts such as Morgan State’s Erick Hunter and Jackson State edge rusher Quincy Ivory set the tone with physical work in position drills and team periods, flashing the kind of burst and power that attracted scouts to New Orleans, according to those who observed individual and team periods.

North Carolina Central running back Chris Mosley also turned heads on offense, building on a week designed to give HBCU playmakers a professional-stage audition similar to other college all-star games.

Not every prospect finished the week at full strength. Virginia Union running back Curtis Allen, listed on this year’s Legacy Bowl roster, came into the event as one of several featured backs but was held out of late-week work because of a hamstring issue, according to people familiar with team preparations. He is not expected to play in the game.

But North Carolina Central running back Chris Mosley made an impression in team drills.
