In the Green Bay Packers’ 23-6 win over the Minnesota Vikings, a familiar name in HBCU football had himself a big day in his first NFL start.

Former Johnson C. Smith and Fort Valley State standout running back Emanuel Wilson produced his first career 100-yard rushing game, finishing with 107 yards on 28 attempts, accounting for each of his team’s touchdowns.

This also marks the first 100-yard rushing game for the Green Bay Packers this season, breaking a 16-game streak dating back to last year.

In addition to Wilson, the Packers’ defense also had a significant role in the win, limiting the Vikings to -1 yards on their five offensive drives in the second half.

The former SIAC Player of the Year got the start in place of full-time starter Josh Jacobs, who was ruled out of the game due to a knee injury.

Joining the Green Bay Packers in 2023 after being cut as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos, Wilson was signed to the team’s active roster after a strong preseason performance.

Last season, as the second running back on the depth chart, he produced 502 rushing yards on 103 attempts and four touchdowns, playing in all 17 games.

With the win, the Green Bay Packers improved to 7-3-1, snapping a two-game losing streak.

Green Bay will now look forward to Thanksgiving Day, looking forward to a clash with its NFC North rival Detroit Lions.
