Cameron Peters delivered a career performance Saturday night.
The quarterback threw for 394 yards and five touchdowns — three of them to Jyzaiah Rockwell — as Prairie View A&M dominated Alabama A&M 48–5 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.
The Panthers (7–3, 5–1 SWAC) overcame a slow start after David Faulk’s 33-yard field goal gave the Bulldogs (4–6, 1–5) a brief first-quarter lead. Moments later, Alabama A&M extended its margin to 5–0 when Prairie View’s Chase Bingmon was tackled in the end zone for a safety early in the second quarter.
Peters quickly responded, finding Ja’Koby Banks for a 39-yard go-ahead touchdown. Just before halftime, he connected with Rockwell on a 39-yard strike to push the Panthers ahead 13–5.

Prairie View broke the game open after the break. Peters hit Rockwell again for touchdown passes of 27 and 9 yards in the third quarter, then found Chaney Fitzgerald for a 56-yard score in the fourth. Fitzgerald’s reception came between touchdown runs from Andre Dennis and Shadrick Byrd to cap the Panthers’ scoring surge.
Peters, a senior, completed 17 of 22 passes, setting career highs in both passing yards and touchdown throws. Rockwell finished with eight receptions for 183 yards and three touchdowns — all personal bests for the junior wideout.
Alabama A&M quarterback Eric Handley completed 18 of 36 passes for 101 yards in the loss.
