Prairie View A&M head coach Tremaine Jackson has surfaced as a potential candidate for a vacant FBS job.
The Athletic’s Chris Vannini reported that Jackson is being considered to replace Trent Dilfer, who was fired by UAB earlier this month.

Jackson has guided the Panthers to the top of the SWAC West standings with a 3–0 conference record (4–2 overall) in his first season at Prairie View after joining the program following a stint at Valdosta State.
Saturday’s road matchup against Southern University in Baton Rouge looms large: a win would push Prairie View A&M to a perfect 4–0 in division play with three SWAC games remaining—against Alabama State, Alabama A&M, and Mississippi Valley State.
Given Jackson’s success and rising profile, his name is likely to surface again in future coaching searches.
