Homecoming at Edward Waters University will feature a former HBCU football player who is part of a familiar sports family.

The annual festivities, a highlight for students and alumni alike, are getting an extra dose of star power thanks to the President’s #ForTheCulture Distinguished Speaker Podcast Series—which returns with a highly anticipated live edition featuring college football standout Shilo Sanders, the school announced on social media.

Shilo Sanders Headlines a Culture Conversation

Sanders, renowned for his fearless defensive play in the SWAC and his leadership at Colorado, will headline the live podcast on Friday, October 31, 2025, inside the Adams-Jenkins Complex on campus. Sanders embodies the essence of HBCU excellence: tradition, grit, and the ongoing drive for greatness. Through a candid conversation, he’ll share insight on carrying the HBCU legacy forward—bringing real talk, real legacy, and real culture to the EWU community.

A Cultural Movement for Florida’s First HBCU

Edward Waters University’s Homecoming 2K25 isn’t just about festivities—it’s about affirming tradition and creating space for authentic culture, real legacy, and genuine pride to resonate throughout campus. Students, alumni, and guests are invited to witness and participate in a week where history meets hustle and tomorrow’s leaders get inspired by those who have forged the path.
