The losing for Norfolk State continues.
The Spartans fell 31-14 to Wofford on Saturday in a frustrating outing, dropping their fifth straight game.
Wofford quarterback J.T. Fayard passed for 248 yards and two touchdowns. Still, it wasn’t enough to overcome strong performances from Wofford’s rushing duo of Ihson Jackson-Anderson and Gerald Modest, who each rushed for over 80 yards and found the end zone.
Jackson-Anderson led Wofford on the ground with 113 yards on 17 carries, while Modest added 82 yards on 18 rushes. Fayard completed 23 of 34 attempts but threw an interception.
The Terriers (1-5) managed to break their own losing streak, pulling ahead with three consecutive scoring drives after the Spartans tied the game at 14 early in the third quarter.

Norfolk State (1-6), in Michael Vick’s first season at the helm, has now lost five straight games, with their lone win coming against Division II Virginia State.
Otto Kuhns threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw an interception for the Spartans. Kam’Ryn Thomas made a strong showing with eight catches for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Despite scoring on their opening drive and responding quickly to tie the game at 14, Norfolk State’s offense stalled, going three-and-out on its next two possessions, allowing Wofford to pull away decisively.
