ESPN’s flagship morning show, “First Take,” will make history this fall, announcing its most extensive schedule of live shows from HBCU campuses and events.

The program will visit four prominent campuses, shining a national spotlight on HBCU football culture and community.

The tour kicks off August 28 at Norfolk State University, bringing Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim to Spartan Nation as football season begins.

On October 24, “First Take” will roll into Birmingham, Alabama, for a special live broadcast at the Amazon Magic City Classic, presented by Coca-Cola. This appearance will place the show at one of the country’s most storied HBCU football rivalries.

Next up, on October 29, the set heads north for a broadcast from Delaware State University, furthering the show’s commitment to celebrating HBCUs across different regions.

The tour wraps up on November 20 with a live episode at Bethune-Cookman University ahead of the Florida Blue Classic—a showcase sure to energize Wildcat fans and the wider HBCU community.

The expanded campus schedule is seen as a major step in elevating HBCU sports and culture, bringing live national visibility and celebrating their tradition, talent, and influence on and off the field.

“First Take” airs weekdays on ESPN, continuing its mission to highlight key sports stories and foster cultural conversations nationwide.
