Jennifer Constuble, who led Alabama State’s first-ever women’s flag football team, has stepped down after one season.
Constuble, who took over the new program last year, guided the Hornets through their inaugural campaign, laying the groundwork for the development of women’s flag football at ASU. Athletic department officials expressed their appreciation for Constuble’s efforts in building the program from the ground up.
“We want to thank coach Constuble for her contribution to Alabama State and the Women’s Flag Football program,” said Dr. Jason Cable, Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics. “We are excited about the future of the program and we will be very intentional about selecting a coach that is committed to growing a thriving Women’s Flag Football program at Alabama State University.”
The university has initiated a national search for Constuble’s replacement and is inviting candidates to apply as soon as possible.
Constuble did not release a statement detailing her reasons for stepping down, but she expressed gratitude for her time at Alabama State on social media, noting her pride in the vision and foundation established during her tenure.
