Florida A&M is bolstering its quarterback lineup.
The Rattlers received a commitment from transfer Lawrence Wright IV, the son of Florida Gators great Lawrence Wright III.
Wright, who entered the transfer portal from the Gators, announced his commitment to the Rattlers on social media.

Wright’s high school journey included a junior year at South Broward High School in South Florida before moving to Gainesville, where he played at P.K. Yonge High School. In his senior season, the 6-foot-1, 243-pound quarterback rushed for 470 yards and six touchdowns, and threw for 468 yards and one touchdown.
His father, Lawrence Wright III, is a University of Florida Athletic Hall of Famer who starred in the Gators’ 1996 National Championship win.
Wright III was named an All-American in 1995, won the Jim Thorpe Award, and contributed to four consecutive SEC titles before playing two seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Wright IV joins a competitive quarterback room at FAMU, stepping in after former Fordham quarterback CJ Montes briefly committed before returning to Kent State. Wright IV will compete for the starting job previously held by Daniel Richardson, who was one of the top quarterbacks in HBCU football last season.
