Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium will transform into a proving ground for hundreds of high school football hopefuls as Jackson State University hosts its highly anticipated Southern Elite Mega Camp on Sunday.

A Showcase for the South’s Top Talent

The Southern Elite Mega Camp, now a staple of the summer recruiting calendar, is expected to draw athletes from across the country, all eager to showcase their skills before an audience of college coaches and scouts. The event, spanning several hours at the 60,000-seat stadium, offers a rare opportunity for rising seniors and underclassmen to compete in front of Jackson State’s championship-winning coaching staff and visiting recruiters from across the collegiate landscape.

Elite Instruction and Exposure

Participants will undergo a series of drills designed to test speed, agility, football IQ, and position-specific skills. The camp’s format emphasizes both individual performance and team competition, giving athletes a chance to stand out in one-on-one matchups and group sessions. In addition to Jackson State’s own coaches, the Mega Camp is known for attracting guest coaches from other programs, further raising the stakes for players seeking scholarship offers or increased exposure.

The camp will also be covered by 247 Sports and On3, two of the largest online recruiting media outlets in the industry.

For Jackson State, the camp is more than just a recruiting tool—it’s a celebration of football culture and a chance to connect with the next generation of Tigers. The event is part of a broader summer lineup, including youth camps, team competitions, and clinics designed to foster skills, leadership, and a love for the game.

A Community Event with Lasting Impact

Beyond the field, the Southern Elite Mega Camp is a rallying point for the Jackson football community. Parents, alums, and fans are expected to fill the stands, cheering on the athletes and soaking in the excitement of a summer day at one of Mississippi’s most storied venues.

Organizers emphasize that the camp will proceed rain or shine, underscoring their commitment to providing a memorable and competitive experience for all involved.

Looking Ahead

As the June 1 kickoff approaches, anticipation is building for what promises to be one of the summer’s premier football events in the South.
