Morgan Price, the two-time national gymnastics champion who became the face of Fisk University’s trailblazing program, has announced her intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
It signals the end of a historic run at the first-ever HBCU women’s gymnastics team.
Price, who recently swept all four individual events and repeated as the all-around champion at the 2025 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship, leaves Fisk as arguably the greatest gymnast in HBCU history. “I’ve accomplished so much here, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Fisk,” Price said in a statement. “But I feel ready for a new chapter and new challenges. I want to push myself even further in my final year of eligibility.”

Her impact on the sport has been profound. Price made history as the first HBCU gymnast to win a national collegiate title, inspiring a new generation of athletes. “I’m living out my legacy, and it’s an honor to showcase my talents at an HBCU,” she told CBS News last year.
“My decision to come to Fisk was about more than gymnastics- it was about making a difference and showing what’s possible.”
Price’s departure marks a turning point for Fisk’s program, which she helped put on the national map. “Morgan’s leadership and excellence have set a standard for our team and for HBCU gymnastics as a whole,” said Fisk head coach Corrinne Tarver. “We wish her nothing but the best as she takes this next step.”
As she weighs her next destination, Price remains focused on her goals. “Gymnastics is a lifelong commitment, and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” she said. “I hope to keep inspiring others, wherever I go.”
