Jackson State defensive back Robert McDaniel’s stock heading into the 2025 NFL Draft has skyrocketed following an impressive Pro Day performance.
His measurements included a 4.55 40-yard dash, a 39.5″ vertical jump (38.5″ at the HBCU Combine), a 10’11” broad jump (10’8″ at the HBCU Combine), and 14 bench press reps.
Among all defensive backs at the 2025 NFL Combine, only one amassed a 39.5″ vertical and a 10’11” broad jump, respectively.
According to numerous reports, McDaniel has received interest from several NFL teams, including the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints.
McDaniel’s college career began in 2019 at Jackson State where he played a year before transferring JUCO then landing at Alcorn State in 2022.
He played two seasons with the Braves recording 43 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, five pass breakups, and three forced fumbles.
The SWAC defensive back then transferred back to Jackson State where he helped lead the Tigers to its first Celebration Bowl win in school history.
He posted 55 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three interceptions (led team), five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles (led SWAC).
McDaniel is looking to become the third Jackson State player selected in the NFL Draft since 2022, joining James Houston and Isaiah Bolden.
