Nearly a week after its season ended in the SWAC Tournament, Landon Bussie is reportedly set to take another job.
According to a report by Hoop Dirt, Bussie is close to being hired as Chicago State’s new coach.
Bussie — the website said — was a finalist for the job last offseason before the school named assistant Scott Spinelli to the position. Spinelli resigned from the position after just one season earlier this month.
Bussie has spent the past five seasons at Alcorn State where he has gone 66-83 overall. The Braves went 11-20 overall and 11-7 in the SWAC this past season and suffered a first-round loss in the SWAC Tournament.
If hired, Bussie will be reunited with current Chicago State athletics director Monique Carroll, who both previously worked at Prairie View.
