As many as nine players from Jackson State and Prairie View were suspended by the SWAC in the aftermath of an on-field brawl over the weekend.
The Clarion-Ledger reported that the altercation occurred last Saturday as Prairie View Celebrated a 7-6 win over Jackson State, according to footage posted on social media.
The newspaper reported that JSU pitcher Arjun Huerta grabbed the bat from Prairie View player Trenton Bush and threw it into the crowd.

In total, six Jackson State players and three Prairie View players were suspended for four games each.
None of the players were identified by the SWAC.
Both schools were fined $25,000, according to the SWAC.
