Lincoln University (PA) capped off an impressive showing with a thrilling 78-70 victory over Kentucky State University to claim the Chris Paul HBCU Challenge championship.

The Lions showcased their depth and resilience to secure the tournament title at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Senior Reggie Hudson led the way with a stellar all-around performance, recording 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, while shooting an efficient 8-of-16 from the field.

Senior Ethan Garita continued his dominant play with a double-double, tallying 19 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Bakir Cleveland added 10 points, 7 rebounds, and a clutch three-pointer to seal the victory.

Lincoln came out firing, taking a commanding 45-29 halftime lead behind a blistering 50% shooting performance and 7 made three-pointers.

Though Kentucky State made a late push in the second half, the Lions’ defense held firm, forcing 17 turnovers and converting them into 21 points.

With the win, the Lions improve to 7-5 overall and remain undefeated in CIAA play at 2-0.
