The streaks are over.
Mississippi Valley State walked into Bragg Memorial Saturday with somber hearts just hours after the team attended funeral services for Delta Devils linebacker Ryan Quinney, who was killed in an automobile crash a week ago.
The Delta Devils left with a shocking and inspiring 24-21 win over Florida A&M on Saturday to simultaneously end its program long 15-game losing streak dating back to October 2023 and snap the Rattlers 23-game home winning streak, the second longest in the FCS.
It is also the first time in program history that the Delta Devils (1-10) have beaten the Rattlers. The Rattlers had a lot of momentum in the second half after shutting MSVU out and scoring 11 unanswered points.
The biggest play of the game was a backbreaking fourth quarter fumble by Rattlers quarterback Daniel Richardson as FAMU was driving for the possible go-ahead score. The Delta Devils recovered the fumble and proceeded to run out the clock and pick up its first win of the season.

Delta Devils quarterback Ty’Jarian Williams led the charge with 251 passing yards and two touchdowns, supported by standout performances from wide receiver Nathan Rembert, who racked up 130 receiving yards, including a pivotal 60-yard touchdown in the first half.
The Rattlers, which committed three turnovers — all on fumbles — fell to 5-5 for the first time since 2018 when it lost to South Carolina State. Prior to Saturday, FAMU hadn’t lost to a SWAC opponent at home since Jackson State in 2018.
Daniel Richardson completed 18 for 24 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiever Jamari Gassett led the Rattlers with 83 yards and a TD reception.
