While Eddie George has been leading Tennessee State to its best season in nearly a decade, his work has reportedly drawn the attention of an FBS school with a coaching vacancy.

As part of a story written by On3Sports reporter Pete Nakos regarding the open Kennesaw State job, the Tigers coach was mentioned as someone the school would possibly check on after it fired Brian Bohannon after five seasons.

“Keep an eye on Eddie George, too, a source told On3sports,” Nakos wrote on X on Tuesday in promotion of an article that identifies Texas State wide receivers coach Chad Morris, East Tennessee State coach Tre Lamb, USFL coach Skip Holtz, Clemson co-defensive coordinator Nick Eason, Georgia defensive back coach Donte Williams, Georgia State running backs coach Will Healey and three-time HBCU Coach of the Year Jerry Mack, now an assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

George is in his fourth year at Tennessee State after being hired prior to the 2021 season. During his time in Nashville, George has gone 22-21 and is on the cusp of guiding the Tigers to back-to-back winning seasons for only the fourth time in 37 years.

Tennessee State is currently 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the Big South/OVC. The last time TSU won seven or more games was in 2016.
