Ahead of the biggest Southwestern Athletic Conference showdown of the season, the two participants, as well as the MEAC leader, reside in the newest edition of the American Football Coaches Association’s FCS Top 25.
Florida A&M (4-2) has moved up to No.18, while North Carolina Central (5-2) is No. 21, joining the Top 25 for the first time this season is Jackson State (4-2) at No. 2The Rattlers and Tigers, both on a bye last week, will meet on Saturday at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium to determine first place in the SWAC’s Eastern Division.
North Carolina Central, the preseason favorite in the MEAC, ended their non-conference schedule with a 68-0 win over Virginia University of Lynchburg this past Saturday. The Eagles will have a bye week before MEAC play resumes with their homecoming contest against Morgan State.
