Earlier this year, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley lamented how hard it was to fill the national champion Gamecocks’ non-conference, then shared an update that the schedule was filled thanks to an HBCU.

The Eagles are no stranger to facing big-time SEC opponents. Last season, 2023 national champion LSU, then led by Baltimore native Angel Reese, visited the Physical Education Complex.
