It was deja vu all over again for Florida A&M.
After falling behind by double digits for the second consecutive week, the Rattlers reeled off 15 unanswered fourth-quarter points to beat South Carolina State 22-18 on Saturday night to run its home winning streak at Bragg Memorial Stadium to 21 straight.
The Rattlers (2-0) trailed 18-7 early in the fourth quarter before FAMU quarterback Daniel Richardson threw touchdowns on back-to-back drives to tight end Karter Johnson and running back Thad Franklin Jr., respectively, to complete the comeback and earn the program’s 13th consecutive victory in a calendar year.
Richardson went 23 of 38 for 282 yards and three touchdowns after the Rattlers offense was held scoreless in the second and third quarters. Koby Gross led FAMU with 94 receiving yards and one touchdown. Levontai Summersett paced the Rattlers with 68 yards on 11 rushing attempts.
