In 1994, Deion Sanders sampled the dance floor hit “Must Be The Music” by Secret Weapon for a tailor-made rap song about wealth and excess called “Must Be The Money.”
30 years later, Coach Prime has dusted off the mic to give Dallas-based rapper Yella Beezy a boost for “Must Be The Money Pt. 2,” which showcases Sanders at his braggadocious best while mentioning his first college head coaching job.
A video on the YouTube channel BigDogg_Chico surfaced recently, featuring Sanders in a recording studio enjoying the song, including his verse, which includes lines about him being “a seven-figure hitta, way back since ’89,” and “Gave the ‘Sip the blueprint and took the family to Boulder.”
The second line acknowledges Sanders’s time at Jackson State University, where He coached the Tigers to back-to-back SWAC championships and Celebration Bowl appearances in 2021 and 2022 before accepting the job as head football coach at the University of Colorado. Sanders’ Buffaloes started 3-0 but finished the season 4-8.
