Taiwanese high school basketball standout Warren Yeh has committed to Alabama A&M.

He announced his decision via his social media.

“Thank you to my family for supporting me all the way, allowing me the opportunity to step onto such a special stage,” he said.

Regarded as the top prospect out of Taiwan, @BridgtonHoops’ Warren Yeh announced his commitment to Alabama A&M over the weekend.

The Taipei native’s play helped Bridgton Academy eclipse the 20-win and helped the Wolverines to the No.5 seed in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council- AAA (NEPSAC) Playoffs, as well as securing a slot in the National Prep Championship.

Bridgton Academy head coach Whit Lesure was very complimentary of Yeh.

“Warren is a tremendous individual who came in here and is regarded as the best young talent in Taiwan,” Lesure said. “Like most new players to the prep world, his experience has been about adjustment and growth, particularly to the level of physicality. He had to sacrifice a lot this year, as did most of our very balanced roster,”.

In the National Prep Showcase, Yeh hit several big shots down the stretch to force overtime against Fork Union, finishing the game with 21 points. In two games in the Showcase, Yeh averaged 17.5 points per game.

Yeh is scouted as a player who can hit shots in catch-and-shoot instances, as well as off the bounce. He is crafty and has the handle to create space against defenders to get his shot off.

Josh Millican, co-director of Maple Recruiting, said Yeh is  “a relentless bucket getter who gets downhill with a purpose…has great positional size & shooting stroke to write home about. A kid to look at when you need a bucket.”

6’5 Warren Yeh out of New Taipei, Taiwan stood out to me at the #NPSI as a relentless bucket getter who got downhill with a purpose. The @BridgtonHoops product has great positional size & a shooting stroke to write home about. A kid to look at when you NEED a bucket.
