With 3:52 left in the first quarter, Trotter hit a three-pointer to give Fayetteville State an 11-9 lead. That would be the last time the Broncos would have the lead all game as Gannon answered with a three of their own, giving them the advantage for the rest of the contest.
Fayetteville State was dominated on the glass, getting out-rebounded 49-36, including allowing 13 offensive boards, which led to 14 second-chance points.
In addition, they were outscored 38-21 in the second half, with Gannon getting hot from three-point range, hitting 7-of-16 attempts.
The Broncos’ season ends falling one win shy of 30 wins, posting an overall record of 29-3.
