The Prairie View A&M Panthers rallied from a 10-8 deficit in the eighth inning to force extra innings and secure a 13-12 victory over the Alabama State Hornets in 10 innings Sunday.
Junior Leonardo Bravo (2-0) got the win out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (6-1). The right-hander went 0.2 innings, giving up one run on one hit, allowing no walks and striking out one. Senior Victor Mendoza also pitched well, going one shutout inning while allowing one hit.
Junior Garrison Weiss led the way offensively for the Panthers, going 3-for-5 in the ballgame with a home run and an RBI. Freshman Trenton Bush put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBI. Junior Lee Allen also chipped in, going 2-for-4 for Prairie View A&M with a walk and an RBI.

The Panthers scored in seven different innings on the way to victory. After holding the lead two different times earlier in the ballgame, Prairie View A&M broke an 11-11 tie and took the lead for good at 12-11 in the 10th inning. Prairie View A&M got three-hit games from both Weiss and Bush. Prairie View A&M’s highest-scoring inning was the eighth when it pushed three runs across. Five Panthers had multiple hits in the ballgame.
