The Norfolk State Spartans kept their hot streak going with a decisive 87-25 win over the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
This is the second time this season Norfolk State has beaten South Carolina State by a margin of over 60 points, having gotten a 94-33 win over them on January 6.
The win was the sixth straight for Norfolk State, improving their overall record to 18-5, including a 7-1 record in MEAC competition.
On the other hand, South Carolina State has lost 15 straight games, dropping to 1-22 on the season, including a 0-8 record against the MEAC.
They have lost 14 straight games against MEAC opponents dating back to last season (not including their tournament loss to Norfolk State).
Diamond Johnson had another spectacular performance, finishing with 26 points, connecting on four three-pointers, adding four rebounds, four assists, and five steals.
Kierra Wheeler posted her 10th double-double of the season with 26 points on 11/14 shooting from the field and 12 rebounds. Anjanae Richardson scored 13 points off the bench, knocking down three three-pointers.

South Carolina State did not have a single player score more than five points, shooting a season-worst 23% from the field. In addition, the Bulldogs committed just as many turnovers (25) as they did points.
At the 8:29 mark in the first quarter, SCSU scored its first points, making the score 2-2. This would be the last time the game was that close as the Spartans went on a 17-2 run over the next seven minutes.
After taking a 24-point lead into halftime, Norfolk State did not let off the gas in the third quarter, outscoring South Carolina State 33-4, shooting 70% from the field in the period.
Norfolk State will look to lock up the number one seed in the MEAC tournament over their next two games when they play North Carolina Central on Monday and Coppin State next Saturday.
