Another one-time Jackson State football player who was recruited by Deion Sanders is headed to Colorado.
Less than a week after announcing he would be entering the transfer portal, Willie Gaines, a wide receiver and kick returned intends to commit to Colorado.
“Aye Coach Prime, you forgot your “SRT” keys, wrote on Twitter No worries, I’m coming by way of A louie from Cocoa Flawda. “Thank you lord Im here, I never imagined this.”

He also led the team with 169 punt return yards on 21 attempts.
Gaines, who will have two years of eligibility left, is the eighth former Jackson State player to transfer to Colorado since Sanders took the job last December. Those players include Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, Travis Hunter, Cam’Ron Simon-Craig, Tyler Brown, Jacob Politte and Alejandro Mata.
